The Preschool Ministry of FBC Tullahoma exists to provide a safe and secure environment where preschoolers can discover God’s love for them and parents can participate in ministry opportunities designed for them with complete confidence that their child will be cared for.


Well Child Policy
Due to the close and communicable environment which exists within our Preschool Ministry, we endeavor to responsibly protect our well children from exposure to sick ones. Of course, we must depend heavily on the honesty of parents regarding a child’s current health. Our teachers and child care providers will also have the responsibility of protecting well children from those who are sick by utilizing observational skills while the child is in their care. If, during the care of a child, a teacher or child care worker discovers a rash, or that the child’s nose is continually running, or that the child feels warm, it is our standard practice that the child be isolated from other well children as we make every effort to quickly notify parents of our health concerns. Upon the recommendation of the Committee on Control of Infectious Diseases of the American Academy of Pediatrics, a child with any of the following symptoms should stay at home:

• A fever in the previous 24 hours
• Vomiting or diarrhea
• Any symptom of a childhood disease such as chicken pox or whooping cough.
• A cold or nose with excessive or discolored drainage
• Sore throat
• Croup
• Any unexplained rash
• Any skin infection such as boils, ringworm or impetigo
• Any hair or skin infestation such as head lice
• Pinkeye or other eye infection

A child showing any of these symptoms will not be allowed in a preschool room. If your child has been attending preschool sessions and develops any infectious disease (i.e., measles, mumps, chicken pox, strep throat, etc.), please notify the church office immediately at 931.455.5461. This will enable us to quickly make efforts to sanitize toys and other items in order to prevent the spread of such sicknesses.
